About this plant
This robust groundcover displays a low-growing, spreading habit, forming a dense mat of rich green foliage. Hardy in zones 6-9, it thrives in well-draining soil and is highly adaptable to a wide range of conditions. In fall, its foliage takes on a beautiful reddish-bronze tint, adding seasonal interest to the landscape. Small white flowers may appear in late spring to early summer, followed by tiny, inedible fruits. Ideal for erosion control, slopes, or as a lawn alternative, it is deer-resistant and drought-tolerant once established. Easily maintained at a height of 2-4 inches, it is an excellent choice for brightening up challenging areas with low care requirements.
