About this plant
This deciduous shrub or small tree exhibits a rounded and compact habit, reaching a mature height of approximately 10 to 15 feet with a spread of 10 to 12 feet. Hardy in Zones 4-8, it thrives in temperatures ranging from -30°F to 90°F and prefers rich, moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Blooming in early spring, it showcases magnificent, pure white star-shaped flowers with a light fragrance that contrasts beautifully against its dark green foliage. In the fall, the leaves transition to a golden yellow hue, adding seasonal interest. Deer-resistant and adaptable, this plant is ideal for gardens where deer browsing is a concern. It requires partial to full sun exposure to thrive and serves as a striking specimen or accent plant in the landscape.
