About this plant
This deciduous tree has an upright, pyramidal habit and is known for its show-stopping display of large, purple-pink flowers that appear in spring before the foliage emerges. Hardy in zones 6-9, it thrives in temperatures above 10°F and prefers well-drained, acidic to neutral soil for optimal growth. Its leaves turn a golden-yellow color in fall, adding seasonal interest to the landscape. Reaching a mature height of 20-30 feet without significant weight concerns, it maintains a balanced shape form. This tree is moderately deer-resistant, making it suitable for areas with occasional deer presence. Ideal for gardens, parks, and urban spaces, it adds a splash of vibrant color and refined elegance to any setting.
