Camellia sas. 'Kanjiro' (rose), ESPALIER

This evergreen shrub displays a graceful upright to spreading habit and is an excellent choice for creating an espalier design. Recommended for hardiness zones 7 to 9, it thrives in mild climates with temperatures typically above 10°F. The glossy, dark green foliage serves as a striking backdrop for its bright rose-pink flowers, which bloom profusely in late fall through winter, bringing vibrancy to cooler seasons. Flowers are single to semi-double in form and provide a delicate contrast to the foliage. While it does not produce fruit, its fall interest is highlighted by the continued blooming. Preferring well-drained, acidic soil enriched with organic matter, it appreciates a shaded to partially sunlit location. Its mature height can range from 6 to 8 feet, depending on pruning practices. This species is resistant to deer but enjoys moderate watering for optimal health. Perfect for creating vertical interest or formal wall displays in a garden landscape.
