Camellia jap. 'White Swan' (white)

A graceful evergreen shrub with a rounded habit, this plant is a standout for its pristine white, semi-double flowers that bloom in late fall through early spring. It is hardy in zones 7-9 and thrives in temperatures between 15°F and 85°F. The glossy, dark green foliage provides a lush backdrop for its blooms, offering subtle year-round interest. This shrub prefers acidic, well-draining soil and benefits from partial to full shade. It can reach a mature height of 6-8 feet and a similar spread, making it ideal as a specimen plant or for use in hedges. While it isn't particularly known for fall color, its evergreen leaves ensure consistent visual appeal. The plant has no significant fruit but boasts moderate deer resistance, making it a reliable option for gardens prone to wildlife intrusion. Perfect for adding structure and elegance to shaded or semi-shaded landscapes.
