Camellia jap. 'Silver Waves' (white)

This evergreen shrub boasts a striking espaliered habit, making it a standout feature for garden walls or trellises. It thrives in USDA hardiness zones 7 to 9 and is best suited for moderate temperatures ranging from 45°F to 85°F. Its glossy, dark green foliage provides a lush backdrop for its stunning white, semi-double flowers, which bloom during late fall to early spring, adding delicate beauty to cooler months. While it lacks significant fall color, its elegant form and flowers more than compensate. It prefers acidic, well-drained, and humus-rich soil, requiring some protection from harsh afternoon sun. This deer-resistant cultivar can be trained and pruned to fit a variety of sophisticated garden landscapes. At maturity, it reaches heights of 6 to 12 feet with a graceful, structured spread, depending on pruning and shaping preferences.
