About this plant
Cupressus macrocarpa 'Donard Gold,' commonly known as Monterey Cypress 'Donard Gold,' is a striking evergreen conifer prized for its vibrant golden foliage that brings year-round interest to landscapes. Its feathery, dense branches display a golden-yellow hue, especially in full sunlight, making it an excellent focal point or backdrop in gardens. 'Donard Gold' maintains a compact pyramidal or columnar habit and performs well in coastal locations due to its tolerance to salt-laden winds. Ideal for hedging, screens, or ornamental planting, this cultivar adds brightness even during winter months.
