About this plant
This deciduous woody vine boasts a vigorous twining habit, perfect for trellises, arbors, and fences. Hardy in zones 4-9, it thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, moderately fertile soil. In late spring to early summer, it produces spectacular hanging clusters of lilac-blue flowers, creating a striking visual display. Its lush green foliage turns a mild golden-yellow in the fall, offering seasonal interest. Mature weight is not applicable, but it reaches heights of 15-25 feet with proper support. Deer-resistant and drought-tolerant once established, it makes an excellent choice for ornamental landscaping while providing a touch of elegance and charm.
