About this plant
This deciduous shrub showcases a compact, upright habit with stunning magenta, fragrant flowers that bloom in mid to late spring. Recommended for USDA hardiness zones 3–7, it thrives in full sun and prefers well-drained, fertile soil. This lilac variety grows to a mature height of 8 to 12 feet with a spread of 6 to 10 feet, forming a rounded shape. The foliage is a lush green throughout the growing season, transitioning to an unremarkable fall color. It does not produce significant fruit but is appreciated for its vibrant floral display and intoxicating scent. Deer resistant and ideal for hedging, borders, or specimen planting, this shrub performs best in moderate temperatures and offers a timeless appeal to any garden.
