About this plant
This deciduous shrub boasts a vigorous, upright habit and is prized for its stunning double, magenta-rose flowers that bloom in mid to late spring, exuding a strong, sweet fragrance. Hardy in Zones 3 to 7, it thrives in full sun with well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Reaching a mature height of 8 to 12 feet with a spread of 6 to 10 feet, it has an oval to rounded form. Fall foliage transitions to a soft yellow, adding subtle seasonal interest. The plant is moderately deer-resistant and attracts pollinators such as butterflies and bees. Ideal as a focal point, hedge, or mass planting, this lilac is a spectacular addition to any garden landscape.
