About this plant
Sempervivum 'Rubikon' is a stunning perennial succulent known for its hardy rosette-forming habit. Ideal for rock gardens, its recommended hardiness is suitable for USDA zones 3 through 8, thriving in temperatures that range from -20°F to 30°F. A drought-tolerant plant, 'Rubikon' can withstand occasional watering neglect, making it a perfect choice for low-maintenance gardens. This cultivar exhibits a unique color gradient with leaves that transition from lime green at the base to a rich ruby red at the tips, vividly displayed during the cooler months. It grows to a mature height of about 4 inches with a spread of up to 12 inches. Although generally deer-resistant, it may require some protection in areas with high deer activity.
