About this plant
Sempervivum 'Ruby Hearts' is an attractive succulent known for its rosette habit and vivid color transition throughout the seasons. This perennial thrives in USDA hardiness zones 4-9, showcasing its optimal performance in temperatures ranging from -30°F to 90°F. With its striking red foliage edged in green, 'Ruby Hearts' makes a vibrant addition to any rock garden or container display. It reaches a mature height of about 3 to 4 inches, forming dense mats due to its spreading nature. This hardy plant exhibits excellent deer resistance, as the thick, fleshy leaves are unpalatable to wildlife. Sempervivum 'Ruby Hearts' is perfect for hot, dry spots and is very low-maintenance, requiring minimal care to thrive, making it a favorite among gardeners looking for drought-tolerant, visually appealing options.
