About this plant
Sempervivum arachnoideum 'Rubrum', commonly known as Cobweb Houseleek, is a charming succulent with a rosette growth habit. This unique groundcover is perfect for rock gardens and containers, boasting striking red-tinted foliage adorned with cobweb-like, white filaments. It thrives in USDA hardiness zones 4 to 8, preferring temperatures ranging from -30°F to 30°F (-34°C to -1°C). With its ability to endure tough conditions, it only reaches a height of about 3 inches, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance landscapes. While not specifically known for deer resistance, its petite size and texture generally make it less appealing to deer. A wonderful conversation starter, the 'Rubrum' is sure to add visual intrigue wherever it is planted.
