About this plant
This compact deciduous shrub features a dense, mounded habit, making it an excellent choice for ground cover, borders, or mass plantings. It is hardy in USDA zones 4-9 and thrives in full sun to part shade, preferring well-drained soils but tolerating a range of conditions. New foliage emerges with vibrant red tones before transitioning to bright golden-yellow hues, while fall foliage turns a rich, russet orange. Small clusters of deep pink flowers bloom throughout summer, adding long-lasting seasonal interest. This low-maintenance shrub typically reaches a mature height of 15-24 inches with a spread of 18-24 inches, making it deer-resistant and drought-tolerant once established. Its vibrant foliage and compact form make it a standout in any landscape.
