About this plant
This compact and upright shrub with a tree-form graft features abundant, double, ruffled blooms in a deep purple hue, exuding a rich clove-like fragrance. Thriving in USDA Hardiness Zones 5-9, it performs best in well-draining, loamy soil with full sun exposure and consistent moisture. This tree form reaches a mature height of approximately 36-48 inches with a tidy, rounded canopy. While it does not produce notable fall color or fruit, its stunning flowers make it a standout choice for ornamental gardens. Its moderate resistance to deer adds functional value, and it attracts pollinators, making it an excellent choice for enhancing habitat biodiversity. Regular pruning is recommended to maintain shape and encourage bountiful flowers.
