About this plant
This elegant evergreen fern features a clumping habit with arching fronds that unfurl into a glossy, dark green display, creating a lush, textural addition to shaded gardens. A recommended hardiness for zones 5-8 makes it well-suited to a variety of climates, thriving in temperatures ranging from 50-75°F. It prefers consistently moist, well-drained, acidic to neutral soils rich in organic matter. Growing to a mature height of 18-24 inches, it spreads slowly to form a graceful mound. Not known for fall color, its evergreen fronds provide year-round interest. Deer-resistant and low-maintenance, it is perfect for woodland gardens, shady borders, or container planting. This fern does not produce flowers or fruit but excels as a captivating foliage plant.
