About this plant
This evergreen perennial boasts striking, upright, sword-like leaves with a color palette of apricot, orange, and green tones, adding vibrant texture to any landscape. It forms an architectural clumping habit, making it ideal for borders, coastal gardens, or container planting. Recommended for USDA hardiness zones 8–11, it thrives in temperatures above 20°F and demonstrates exceptional tolerance to wind, salt spray, and dry soil conditions. Though it does not offer notable fall color or flowers, its dramatic foliage and deer resistance make it a popular choice for modern and low-maintenance landscapes. Preferring well-drained soil, this compact form matures to a height of 4–6 feet and offers dynamic vertical interest without overwhelming smaller spaces.
