Liquidambar styraciflua, commonly known as the American Sweetgum, is a stately deciduous tree known for its star-shaped leaves that transform into stunning shades of red, orange, and yellow in autumn. Its unique, spiked, rounded fruit capsules add winter interest, and its deeply furrowed bark lends year-round texture.
