About this plant
Liquidambar styraciflua 'Worplesdon', commonly known as Worplesdon Sweet Gum, is a deciduous tree highly valued for its ornamental foliage and vibrant autumn display. The deeply lobed, star-shaped leaves provide textural interest throughout the growing season, turning brilliant shades of orange, red, and yellow in the fall. This cultivar is particularly noted for its uniform and upright growth habit, making it an excellent choice for landscapes or as a specimen tree. It produces inconspicuous flowers in spring followed by spiky seed balls. 'Worplesdon' is both hardy and adaptable, growing well in a variety of soil types.
