About this plant
Iris sibirica 'Shirley Pope' is a stunning perennial known for its striking purple flowers that add a touch of elegance to any garden. This clump-forming iris exhibits a graceful habit and thrives in well-draining soil with consistent moisture. Ideal for hardiness zones 3 through 8, 'Shirley Pope' prefers cooler temperatures and does best when planted in full sun to partial shade. Reaching a height of approximately 24 to 36 inches, it blooms beautifully in late spring to early summer. With moderate deer resistance, this iris is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking vibrant color and exquisite form in their landscapes.
