About this plant
Forsythia x intermedia 'Spectabilis', commonly known as Border Forsythia, is a deciduous shrub renowned for its vibrant, bright yellow flowers that emerge in early spring. This vigorous plant typically has an upright, arching habit and thrives in hardiness zones 5 - 8. It is tolerant of cold temperatures down to -15°F (-26°C). Reaching a mature height of 8 to 10 feet, with a similar spread, 'Spectabilis' makes a striking addition to any garden, providing a burst of color after winter and heralding the arrival of spring. Its hardy nature and impressive floral display make it a popular choice for hedges and mixed borders.
