About this plant
This vibrant deciduous shrub or small tree features a stunning variegated habit with white and pale green foliage, which takes on striking pink to burgundy tones in the fall. Hardy in USDA zones 5-9, it thrives in temperatures between -20°F to 20°F (-29°C to -6°C) and prefers moist, well-drained soil. In late spring, delicate white flowers adorn its branches, adding seasonal interest. It forms an elegant, rounded shape, reaching a height of 10-12 feet with a similar spread at maturity. While its small, bluish fruit is not prominent, it can attract birds and wildlife. This plant boasts excellent deer resistance, making it ideal for woodland gardens or sunny to partially shaded landscapes.
