Cornus fl. 'Cherokee Brave' (rosy red)

This deciduous tree features a rounded habit, reaching a mature height of approximately 20 to 25 feet with a spread of 15 to 20 feet. Hardy in zones 5 to 9, it thrives in well-drained, slightly acidic soil and prefers full sun to partial shade environments. It showcases stunning rosy-red flowers in spring, transitioning to excellent maroon-red fall foliage. During late summer to early fall, small, glossy red fruits appear, providing food for birds and wildlife. The Cherokee Brave exhibits moderate deer resistance and has a graceful, spreading form, making it a standout ornamental feature for landscapes or garden settings. Ensure it is sheltered from extreme heat and provides moderate moisture for optimal growth.
