About this plant
This climbing perennial boasts a vigorous yet compact habit, making it perfect for trellises, fences, or container gardening. Hardy in zones 4-9, it thrives in temperatures as low as -30°F. This clematis produces stunning deep purple blooms from late spring through summer, adding a striking pop of color to any landscape. Its foliage remains green through fall, with no significant autumn color change. Ideal in well-drained, fertile soil with moderate moisture, it prefers a sunny spot with shaded roots. It reaches a mature height of 6-10 feet and exhibits moderate resistance to deer. Perfect for gardeners looking for vertical interest with easy maintenance.
