Callicarpa bodinieri 'Profusion'

This deciduous shrub features an upright, rounded habit, reaching a mature height of 6 to 10 feet and a spread of 4 to 8 feet. Recommended for USDA Zones 5-8, it thrives in well-drained, moderately fertile soil and prefers full sun to partial shade for optimal growth. The plant is prized for its vibrant fall color, with green foliage turning gold or bronzy-purple before dropping. Its standout feature is the profusion of small, violet-purple berries that persist well into winter, providing striking ornamental value. During the summer, delicate clusters of pale lilac flowers appear, attracting pollinators. It is deer-resistant and offers a bold structural form in borders or informal hedges. Best planted in a sheltered location with consistent moisture to ensure a healthy, vigorous display.
