Berberis thunbergii 'Orange Rocket' PP18411

This deciduous shrub exhibits a columnar, upright habit that makes it a striking vertical accent in any landscape. It thrives in USDA zones 4-9 and prefers full sun to partial shade for the most vibrant foliage. The recommended temperature range supports its hardiness, making it suitable for temperate climates. Its foliage emerges as a vivid orange-red in spring and matures to a rich burgundy through summer, transitioning to a spectacular ruby red in fall. Although it rarely flowers, it may produce small, pale-yellow blooms in spring, followed by tiny, bright red fruit that adds extra ornamental appeal. This plant grows well in well-drained soil and is highly tolerant of various soil types. It has a compact, columnar form with a mature height of 4-5 feet and a spread of 2-3 feet. It is also deer-resistant, making it ideal for low-maintenance landscapes. This award-winning cultivar is renowned for its unique color and versatility, standing out in gardens or as a container accent.
