Asclepias incarnata 'Ice Ballet'

Asclepias incarnata 'Ice Ballet', commonly known as Swamp Milkweed 'Ice Ballet', is a perennial herbaceous plant with an upright habit. This milkweed variety is recommended for hardiness zones 3 to 8, thriving best in temperatures where true winters occur. The 'Ice Ballet' variant is notable for its clusters of pure white blooms, attracting pollinators such as butterflies, particularly monarchs, making it a favorite in butterfly gardens. It grows to a height of approximately 3 to 4 feet, creating an elegant vertical presence in gardens. While not particularly deer-resistant, it does deter them more than some other garden plants. This Swamp Milkweed variety is also tolerant of wet soils, making it ideal for rain gardens and planting near water features.
