This gorgeous deciduous small tree or large shrub boasts a rounded, upright habit with a mature height of 15–20 feet. It is hardy in zones 7–9 and thrives in full sun, withstanding temperatures as low as 0°F in winter. Strikingly vibrant, its deep coral-pink flowers appear in summer, creating a stunning show against its glossy green foliage that transitions to shades of orange and red in fall. It develops smooth, cinnamon-colored bark, adding winter interest. The plant produces small capsule-like fruits after blooming, but they aren’t messy or obtrusive.
